We finished our practice C&E on the video of the reenactment of Sojourner Truth's "Ain't I A Woman" speech, and then we read a handout analyzing the authenticity of the speech followed by adding notes with some discussion -- see a reliable classmate to add these notes to your copy of the handout. To make the points made in the notes clear, we listened to 2 different samples of Afro-Dutch speaking women read the more accurate version of the speech. We then began a scored Reading C&E on a scholarly article about Reconstruction -- to be continued in class tomorrow.
