We finished the Context & Lens assessment for Hilda's story -- if you were absent, see me to set up a time to complete this scored work. A new note page -- to be used for her actual story excerpts -- was distributed, and to start, students recorded their observations, thoughts, and memories about a collection of display objects (bananas and a brown paper bag)...brainstorm whatever comes to mind, what you think of, your memories and opinions about these objects. Then, if you are in 5th begin reading her story while taking many notes of facts as well as your thoughts and questions in preparation for a Socratic discussion that will be held Friday; tomorrow will be a second and final reading day to prepare. 2nd hour is a day behind due to the late start yesterday, and they will prep the story Thursday and Friday with Socratic on Tuesday.
