The scored A/V C&E skill on Crash Course was returned, edited, and discussed. We viewed Scene 34 through to the end of the film while adding notes to the note page as detailed yesterday. Students were each assigned, then to analyze one of two essays in the "red book" -- "Life in a Totalitarian System" (Barragree, Bauer, Bowling, Conley, DeHaro, Hardebeck, Harris, Krones, Pueschell, Quinn, Ruiz, Schippert, Wallace, Wingren, & Zack) or "'Call Me Mister': The Black Experience During Reconstruction." (Canady, Castonguay, Crouch, Dixon, Fegan, Haskins, Ketchum, Lyons, Lyznicki, McTaggart, Peters, Rabideau, Schunke, Suver, Thompson, & Wonch). Prepare the essay like a Claim & Evidence; it will be used in the Socratic discussion. Class time will be given tomorrow to continue this work, but then it will need to be finished for homework as needed, as the discussion will be on Friday. (Chapter 13 will be discussed Monday or Tuesday; Chapter 14 is due next Friday.)
