We finished viewing the "Teenagers, Years of Turmoil" primary source video from the 1950s and discussed. We also discussed the stereotypes of the 1950s and 60s and how those differ from historical complexity -- aided by a slideshow handout of information that addressed the 50s, specifically, and gender-related issues. We went through a very short slideshow of highlights of famous examples of women making progress in the direction of equality in the modern era. We also began reading through a timeline packet for the Civil Rights Movement -- to be finished in class tomorrow.
