A handout was provided with much discussion for how to "gut a book" (speed reading nonfiction), and the assignment given to speed-read w/ note-taking in the core textbook pages 343-375 by the start of class Friday. We spend out in-class time today working on Chapter 5 excerpts from Loewen's book in preparation for a scored Socratic discussion -- to be finished in class tomorrow. (Discussion will be Thursday.)
