U.S. History

Students finished the scored analysis of the Hortons' scholarly essay, "Call Me Mister."  We watched a 3-min video about the history and implications of the Klu Klux Klan while adding relevant notes to our Essential Question (immediate push-back following conclusion of Civil War and passage of the 13th Amendment): http://www.history.com/topics/ku-klux-klan. Students then worked in groups to pull more E.Q. points from the already-underlined critical portions of some short articles -- see your group in class tomorrow to get caught up with the article and to continue with the remaining three.
